Do you want to help develop our customer offering through strategic and operational category work within confectionery? We have expanded within the organization and are now looking for a category manager who wants to take responsibility for growth, profitability, and assortment development in an entrepreneurial-driven, dynamic, and growing organization.
As a category manager with us, you will play a key role in developing our product categories related to the confectionery area and ensuring that we offer our customers the most relevant and in-demand products on the market. You will work both strategically and operationally with category plans, supplier negotiations, and assortment optimization. In this role, you will have budget and result responsibility, drive communication regarding changes to stores and other functions, and report to the sales manager. You will administer assortments, campaigns, pricing, and master data, and ensure through continuous analysis that we deliver the best customer offering. Central to the role is also collaboration with internal functions such as stores, purchasing, marketing, and logistics to ensure competitive and relevant offers to customers.
Main responsibilities:
- Be responsible for assortment work: analyze, revise, and optimize the existing assortment, as well as introduce new brands and products based on trends, demand, and availability.
- Develop category plans according to established structures.
- Conduct negotiations and build and maintain long-term partnerships with suppliers to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
- Actively participate in campaign planning and marketing activities in line with the overall business strategy.
- Collect and analyze item data, document market developments, and initiate improvement measures.
- Drive launch work by ensuring that registration files, product texts, and images are in place before launches.
- Communicate with stores regarding assortment changes and provide the right conditions for purchasing and supply.
- Promote good cooperation within the department and with other functions within the organization.
Requirements and qualifications
To succeed in this role, we see that you have a post-secondary education in purchasing, marketing, or business development, or relevant work experience in the field. Experience in retail is an advantage. You need to thrive and be driven by creating and nurturing long-term collaborations and see the value in developing strong relationships with various suppliers. As a person, you are reliable and responsible, with the ability to work independently and drive processes forward. We also see that you have strong administrative skills, are quick to adapt to various digital tools, and appreciate creating structure and efficiency in your work. Your business instinct and personal suitability are crucial for delivering in the role and will be highly valued in the recruitment process.
